Wearing Dark Lipstick
Recently I purchased Topshop's concentrated Ribena-coloured lip stick, called "Depth". I absolutely adore the colour as it is extremely strong and pigmented. However I seem to find that this lipstick tends to bleed into, and around your mouth, so I suggest basing your lip using a lip liner, or if you don't own one, you can just press some purple eye shadow onto your lip after applying the lipstick, which I find really keeps it in place.
Another simple method is outlining the skin around your lip with concealer to avoid it seeping into your foundation around your mouth, by creating this simple barrier.

Day 4: Reminiscing Prom
Day 5: Reminiscing Prom
Prom was 140 days ago.
And yet I still distract myself with the incredible memories made that evening.
But the days-even weeks before sparked off incredible tension and hardships, so I thought I'd help out the future prom goers with my (probably not so helpful) advice.
The first dwindling problem that springs to mind at prom is usually the "dress". This dress is the epitome of prom, you feel like this dress will define you, it'll be in every picture of prom, your date might have to develop his look from your dress, it doesn't just affect you, it affects everything.
And I know this seems slightly absurd, but these were my honest thoughts surrounding this critical garment.
I had decided my colour years ago (like a saddo)which was emerald/forest green. So I thought I'd check my favourite website, Ebay. After trawling for days and hours, I had found it. I wanted something simple and classic, I didn't want the design to be complex, but I thought that the colour would make it slightly unique.
Next dilemma, transport. I initially wanted to go in a hippy van or some sort of vintage car, but certain unexpected circumstances occurred and a lovely bunch of people took me in, so we went in a pink prom bus. Although it clashed with my dress, I couldn't of asked for a more enjoyable journey. I wouldn't of been able to dance and jump around, or fall over as the bus stopped and swerved around. It made exiting the vehicle easier than a car, because I wouldn't snag it on the side, all I had to do was jump down. So the bus was honestly fab.
Sorting out your locks was honestly quite obvious, as I didn't want/ couldn't afford someone to do it for me. I simply used my God-given hands to prepare my hair, one mistake I made however was that I curled my hair as soon as I arrived home. It eventually lost it's volume and curl, I recommend doing it last minute because if you have a makeup artist he or she may have to press down on your head, thusly flattening your hair. I guess this was affective as it saved money, time and avoided possible problems that may have occurred.
I have miserably flat hair. So I used "Schwarzkopf got2b Powder'ful Volumizing Styling Powder"
Which I applied to my roots and gave it a less undesirable balding man head effect.

I used a Babyliss Pearl Wand to produce my curls, by separating my hair and methodically working my way through.
For my jewelry and clutch I spent no more than a fiver, borrowing my clutch from a generous older friend in sixth form helped save lots. Moreover as it was a large clutch I could store all the necessary makeup top ups and chewing gum that may be required later on.
My gold leaf earrings were from Primark, and were no more than £2 I thought that they fitted in with my demure and forest fairy look I was aiming for.
My upper arm cuff was from Ebay and although it broke a few days after prom, it was only £3 and had worked courageously in the times it had been worn. I liked it mainly because I wasn't keen on the obvious gold or silver bangle and wanted to radiate a Boho edge to my look.

Feline
Fancy Dress
I have such an array of emotions towards Fancy Dress Party's.
On the one hand they make for the best pictures, however the thought that goes into Fancy Dress party's is always quite intense. Knowing me, I always leave it till last minute.
Literally.
I came up with this an hour before.
I came up with this an hour before.
I have always liked to put quite a bit of effort into dressing up (especially the make-up side of it)and personally I'm not keen on buying an outfit it off of the internet, I'm more of a DIY kinda girl.
So here's my take on leopard-like lady.
I used a hand-me-down leopard print dress and paired it with heels and a funky tribal belt, I felt it was kind of a cop out to put on a printed dress and declare myself a cat. So I looked up make-up ideas for catish creatures, but I free styled it mostly.
I overly contoured, and used eyebrow pencil to draw on the spots and extended my eyebrows, adding eyeliner to my inner corners, I felt that this really made the face for me.
Contour Powder: Sleek Face Form (Medium)
Eyeliner: Glam Eyes Maybelline
Brown Eyeliner Pencil: MUA
Lip gloss: NARS
Mascara: Telescopic Loreal
Blusher: Max Factor

I'm really sorry guys, but I've been asked to stop blogging in order to possibly get a job somewhere, so for now I'm just accumulating blogs and making them but not posting them. As soon as I'm given the thumbs up I will upload them all and get back to my usual pitter patter of nonsensical chit chat.
