Day 3: Spontaneity

Day 3: Spontaneity

Remember those great days in Primary school, when you'd developed a marvelous pretending game of "Mummy's and Daddy's", you'd all be deep into character, the plot would be mind bogglingly dramatic (for 8 year olds), and when the whistle blew, you'd all chat in class about how you'd continue this prodigious game tomorrow.

But it would never be as good.

Your characters wouldn't be on point, some child would want to be the "Mummy" you'd end up having 3 "Mummy"'s and 16 boyfriends, with a dog on the side. The family dynamic just wouldn't be there anymore.

This is just because it wouldn't be as spontaneous as the first time you'd played this game, you previously had no expectations, no plans and no restrictions. The second time, however, would contain a predominately bossy kid that changed the plot, or some nonsense.

Today the "game" was played for the first time-no bossy girls to be seen.

It was honestly amazing, it was the last day of exams for most students, there was a slightly arranged water fight in a nearby park. As I'm sure you can imagine, most girls were attacked by the savage boys (probably hasn't changed much since primary school).

But they had water guns, so it technically wasn't an even match.

The reason it was so great was because of the minimal planning put into it-as well as knowing that most of us wouldn't ever have to know about Pythagoras-I'm really not keen on that guy.

After the fighting had died down a bit, the sun still pummeling our shoulders with heat, we all sat and chatted with tunes blaring out, the feeling of not having a purpose was great. Later, people drifted off, leaving a few of us starving stragglers behind.

Wanting to extend the euphoric feeling, we traipsed to a friends house, hoping to quench the overbearing feeling of dehydration. I think we all chose self defence over personal health.

After the best journey ever, with the chattiest/nosiest/sassiest bus driver,  we reached her humble abode, we found her secret garden lair, and we started munching on Sensations and gulping down lemonade.

Quickly we had the amplifier out, as we crazily jumped around like maniacs, to tunes from our childhood (Of course Toxic by Britney Spears was in the mix)

In the end we had to go, and the feeling we all must have felt as the "whistle blew", returned again.

I honestly didn't want this "game" to end.
